EiMatro TV Ltd.
EiMatro TV | Editorial Complaints Policy

Our Commitment

EiMatro TV welcomes legitimate questions, complaints, corrections and feedback concerning our journalism and fact-checking work.

We believe that a transparent complaints process helps improve accuracy, accountability and public trust.

1. What This Policy Covers

This policy covers complaints relating to:

  • Accuracy of published factual information
  • Fact-checking decisions
  • Sources and evidence
  • Misrepresentation of statements
  • Significant omissions
  • Editorial fairness
  • Corrections and updates
  • Potential conflicts of interest
  • Compliance with EiMatro TV’s editorial standards

2. What a Complaint Should Include

To help us investigate a complaint, please provide:

  • The URL of the relevant content
  • The specific issue or statement being challenged
  • A clear explanation of the concern
  • Supporting evidence or documentation where available
  • Your name and contact information

Anonymous complaints may be considered when sufficient information is provided to independently investigate the issue.

3. How Complaints Are Reviewed

Complaints are reviewed by the appropriate editorial personnel.

Depending on the nature of the complaint, we may:

  • Review the original material
  • Re-examine the evidence
  • Review source documents
  • Contact relevant parties
  • Consult editorial or fact-checking staff
  • Determine whether a correction or clarification is warranted

4. Editorial Independence

A complaint does not automatically require EiMatro TV to change or remove published content.

Editorial decisions are based on evidence, accuracy and applicable editorial standards.

We do not alter fact-check conclusions merely because a person, organization, political actor, advertiser, sponsor or funder disagrees with them.

5. Complaints That May Not Receive a Response

Some complaints may not require an individual response, including complaints that:

  • Contain no specific factual or editorial concern
  • Provide no evidence
  • Are abusive, threatening or discriminatory
  • Repeatedly raise the same issue without new evidence
  • Seek preferential treatment
  • Are intended solely to pressure the editorial team

This does not prevent EiMatro TV from reviewing information internally when appropriate.

6. Complaints About Fact-Checks

When a complaint challenges a fact-check, we will consider relevant evidence supplied by the complainant.

Where credible evidence demonstrates that our assessment was incorrect, the fact-check may be corrected or updated in accordance with our Corrections Policy.

7. Conflicts of Interest

Complaints alleging a conflict of interest will be reviewed based on the available evidence.

Where a material conflict is identified, EiMatro TV may take appropriate editorial action, including disclosure, reassignment or review of the relevant content.

8. Response and Resolution

We aim to handle legitimate complaints fairly and within a reasonable period.

The complexity of a complaint, availability of evidence and need for additional verification may affect the time required for review.

9. Good-Faith Communication

EiMatro TV expects complainants and editorial staff to communicate respectfully.

Threats, harassment or attempts to intimidate editorial staff will not be accepted as part of the complaints process.

10. Contact

Complaints may be submitted through the official EiMatro TV contact channels available on our website.
